To Do List

Well it's been a little over a week since the last day of school and it's getting about that time to start working on my to do list. I have already finished reading The Book Whisper. It was a great book and got me really inspired to devour as many children book titles as I can. This way I can make recommendations to my students. I have been feverishly trying to read this year's Sunshine State Readers and next year's as well. Also, I have been trying to acquire audio versions of many titles for my struggling readers.

I would love some recommendations for books to read that the kids might be into. I just finished reading:
1. Al Capone Shines My Shoes (very good)
2. Cicada Summer (very good)
3. Obi, Gerbil on the Loose (something about a talking gerbil didn't do it for me)
4. Eleven (a little on slow side)

I also made and added my blog button, although I'm not completely happy with it. I'm just waiting to fix it, but right now not really feeling it. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

I like your button:) How did you do it. I am a new 4th grade teacher blogger and would love to make one myself but have no clue how to do it. I'm adding your button to my post and following you:)

I would also recommend

The Strange Case of the Origami Yoda
The Regarding Series (It starts with Regarding the Fountain)
My kids also enjoyed N.E.R.D.S.

Mrs. Wells

I just finished the first Alvin Ho book. It's about a second grader who is allergic and afraid of everything. I think the kids will definitely love it. It was hilarious.
